Marlon® - Low Density PTFE Dielectric

Markel Marlon® low density polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) insulated wire is supplied as a component to manufacturers of flexible and semi-rigid RF and microwave coaxial cables.

Conductors can be stranded or solid, silver or nickel plated copper or copper clad steel. Velocity of Propagation values up to 76% are available.

Electrical and physical dimensions are tightly controlled to meet the requirements of each finished cable specification for the RF and microwave coaxial cable markets.

Markel has broad capabilities to produce Marlon™ Low Density PTFE Dielectric for use in coaxial cable. Marlon™ can be used in coaxial cable designs for the Wireless Infrastructure, Defense, Test, and other RF and Microwave applications. Marlon™ is often used in “semi-rigid” coaxial cable designs. Markel can insulate low density PTFE dielectric from 28AWG – 15AWG in solid or stranded Silver Plated Copper (SPC), Silver Plated Copper Weld (SPCW) or Nickel Plated Copper (NiPC).
