FPM™ Porous PTFE Membranes for Contacting & Separation
General Information:
FPM™ Porous PTFE Membranes for Contacting & Separation
Markel FPM™ (Fluoropolymer Permeable Membrane) Porous Fiber Solutions are a family of PTFE based products that can be used in a wide variety of contacting and separation applications. The unique properties of PTFE, including outstanding purity and chemical resistance make it ideally suited for the most aggressive chemical and process environments.
FPM™ Porous Fiber Solutions can be supplied in hollow fiber and tube form. Mean pore size, pore size distribution, and the fiber wall thickness may be independently controlled to best balance flux rates while maintaining open flow paths through the membrane wall.
Products Available:
FPM™ Porous PTFE Membranes for Contacting & Separation
• Diameters from 0.7mm to 9.5mm
• Wall thicknesses from 7% to 30% of fiber O.D. depending on fiber diameter
• Porosities up to 70% depending on pore size
• Mean Pore Size from 0.005 to 10 µm

FPM™ Porous PTFE Membranes for Contacting & Separation
Markel has broad capabilities to produce porous PTFE hollow fiber membranes for contacting and separation applications.
Markel builds their porous fibers to customer specifications, the vast majority of which are custom. Markel can customize: pore size, pore size distribution, particle capture capabilities, flux rates, and physical size to meet specific needs. Whether the application calls for separating a complex organic solution, or degassing an aqueous solution, Markel can build a porous PTFE hollow fiber membrane to meet the need.
